Floor Repair London

On-site repair for scratches, dents, chips and gouges on wood, laminate and engineered floors

Scratches, dents and surface damage on wood and laminate floors are one of the most common problems in London properties – particularly in rented flats, new builds and properties going through a change of use. In most cases, the damage does not require sanding or replacing boards. It can be repaired on site, in place, without disruption to the rest of the room.

Magic Restore carries out floor repairs across London, Essex and Kent. We work on solid wood, engineered wood, laminate, parquet and vinyl floors including LVT. All repairs are done in situ – no boards removed, no sanding of the whole floor, no overnight drying of large areas.

Types of Floor Damage We Repair

  • Scratches and scuff marks – surface-level marks on lacquered or oiled wood floors, colour matched and sealed

  • Dents and indentations – compression damage from furniture legs or dropped objects, filled and levelled

  • Chips and impact damage – edges and corners of boards repaired and colour matched to surrounding floor

  • Deep gouges – filled in stages with specialist repair materials, grain detail recreated where needed

  • Laminate surface damage – chips and scratches on laminate boards repaired without board replacement

  • Parquet repairs – individual block damage addressed in situ; colour and grain matched to existing floor

  • Vinyl floor repairs – cuts, tears, scuffs and surface damage on LVT and sheet vinyl repaired in situ; common in London flats, kitchens and rental properties

When Repair Is Not the Right Option

We will tell you upfront if the damage is better suited to board replacement or a full floor sand. This applies to:

  • Boards that have lifted, buckled or separated at joints due to moisture – structural issue, not surface damage

  • Damage covering a very large surface area where a targeted repair would not produce a consistent result

  • Laminate boards with severe swelling from water ingress – the substrate has failed and repair will not hold

How It Works

We assess the damage, prepare the surface, fill and level in stages, recreate grain detail where needed, and match the colour and sheen to the surrounding floor. Most floor repairs take one to three hours and are completed in a single visit. There is minimal disruption – no heavy equipment, no large areas masked off, and no need to vacate the property.

The repaired area can be walked on carefully after a few hours. We advise avoiding heavy foot traffic and furniture placement on the repair for 48 hours while the finish fully cures.

Who We Work With

  • Homeowners – accidental damage, wear marks, furniture dents in living rooms and bedrooms

  • Landlords and letting agents – floor damage between tenancies, avoiding full board replacement costs

  • Builders and contractors – snagging repairs on new builds and refurbishments before client handover

  • Property managers – reactive repairs across multiple units in managed blocks across London
