Bath & Sink Repair in London
Chips, cracks and surface damage to baths, sinks and shower trays are among the most common repair requests we receive across
London properties. The damage is often minor in structural terms but immediately visible, and in rental properties or homes being prepared for sale it needs to be addressed before handover or viewing.
Magic Restore carries out on-site bath and sink repairs across London, Essex and Kent. All work is done in the property – we do not remove sanitaryware. Repairs cover chips, cracks, surface scratches and discolouration on baths, basins, shower trays and shower enclosures.
What We Repair
-
Chips and impact damage – filled, colour matched and sealed to blend with the surrounding surface
-
Surface cracks – stabilised and finished to reduce visibility
-
Scratches and scuff marks – polished out or repaired depending on depth
-
Discolouration and staining – treated where the cause is surface-level rather than material failure
-
Edge damage on shower trays and enclosures – repaired in situ without removal
What We Do Not Repair
Not every job is suited to repair, and we will tell you upfront if replacement is the more practical route.
-
Hair cracks (crazing): Fine networks of hairline cracks that appear across the whole surface are a sign of material fatigue rather than surface damage. They cannot be repaired effectively – resurfacing or replacement is the correct approach.
-
Structural fractures: Cracks that run through the full depth of the material or indicate movement in the unit are not suitable for cosmetic repair.
-
Severe or widespread surface degradation: Where the finish has broken down across a large area, a targeted repair will not produce a consistent result. Full resurfacing or replacement will give a better outcome.
How the Repair Works
We assess the damage, prepare the surface, apply filler in stages, colour match to the existing finish and seal the repair. The colour matching is done on site by eye, building up pigment in layers. Sheen level is matched to the surrounding area so the repair sits consistently within the surface.
Most bath and sink repairs are completed in a single visit lasting one to three hours. There is some smell from finishing materials, so ventilation helps. The repaired area should be kept dry for 24 hours and treated with care for the first 48 to 72 hours while the finish fully cures.
